More than 200 features in iOS 7. Developers' apps include OpenTable, Zillow, and NBC. "Great not just on the iPhone, but iPad as well."
-
-
iOS 7 available Sept 18 for iPhone 4 and later, iPad 2 and later, iPad mini, and 5th generation iPod Touch.
-
The most interesting thing to me about iOS7 has been that Apple didn't make the cutoff iPhone 5, or even iPhone 4S, but the iPhone 4. They really want to keep the most current OS running on as many devices as possible--a bit different than Google's approach with Android.

Ha! Apple has found the Holy Grail--sell a colorful iPhone AND sell a colorful case.

iPhone 5C made of hard-coated polycarbonate material and has four-inch Retina display. Inside is steel reinforced structure to provide rigidity. Battery inside is slightly larger than iPhone 5 battery. Connectivity: 100Mbps, more LTE bands, Bluetooth 4.0,

It's the Green Goblin phone. Is that a real color?

iPhone 5C camera specs: 8-megapixel iSight camera (uses new camera app with live photo filters), 3x video zoom, better FaceTime HD for low light conditions, improved FaceTime audio.

The phone is green, too: Arsenic-free display, Mercury-free, "and yes, Android-free."
-
Here's the silly part to me. That iPhone 5C price is $99 with contract, no doubt. But the phone service contract is ultimately what costs the consumer the most money. It's an illusion of cheapness.
-
From the iPhone 5C video: Exterior is made of multiple parts reduced to single polycarbonate component with seamless surface. iPhone 5C starts with single piece of polycarbonate with steel-reinforced frame with bespoke assembly that doubles as antenna. Clear lacquer gives it glossiness, contrasted by matted case.
-
The iPhone 5C's case colors match the iOS7 UI perfectly, don't they?
-
$99 is cheap, but many folks outside the U.S. don't have contracts with reduced price phones. The 5C will definitely be cheaper to buy off-contract than a "full" iPhone--and from its $99, we can guess by at least a hundred dollars, possibly more.

"Beautifully, unapologetically plastic," says Cook.
-
Little known fact, that room doubles as Ive's tanning booth.
-
"iPhone 5C is built on foundation of features people know and love," Federighi says in the video. The wallpaper complements the colors of the phone.
-
"It's the vivid realization of hardware and software together in one device."
-
-
"It's the most forward-thinking phone we've ever created."

The plastic is polycarbonate, which is the same material they've been using since iBook G3.

iPhone 5S video shows metallic coming together. Looks like that gold iPhone is real!

I'm really against these cases. They're nice looking but the whole point of a plastic phone is that you shouldn't need to protect it.by Farhad Manjoo via twitter 9/10/2013 5:35:02 PM

iPhone 5S made of high-grade aluminum with diamond cut edges and perfectly matched glass inlays. "It is the gold standard in smartphones."

Infinity Blade 3 will be available in App Store along new iPhone.

M7 motion coprocessor works alongside A7 and takes advantage of sensors--accelerometer, gyroscope, compass--to measure motion data continuously. Enables a new generation of health and fitness apps.
-
It can characterize and analyze data to tell if you're walking, running, or driving. Apple has been working with Nike to take advantage of this. Nike+ Move is designed to help athletes stay motivated, fit, and active throughout the day.

Apple's on-screen iPhone 5S demos show a new home button with a ring around it. Is this the fabled fingerprint sensor?by Kiteaton via twitter 9/10/2013 5:46:08 PM

What about battery life? Equal or greater than iPhone 5 with 10 hours 3G talk time, eight hours 3G browsing, 10 hours LTE browsing, and 250 hours standby.
-
The new M7 chip's biggest accomplishments, I'm guessing, are its power consumption and its movement/sensing algorithms. The hardware itself is probably the least remarkable part about it.

iPhone now has two flashes, making it twice as annoying when foodbloggers snap pics of their plates in dimly-lit romantic restaurants.

Burst mode: When you take a photo and hold down the shutter button, the camera will take photos at 10 frames per second. Two-second demo took 20 shots. In real time, the camera analyzes exposure, sharpness, whether a face is in scene, whether someone's smiling/blinking, and will choose the best shot--all in real time, automatically.

Anecdote: I once got very muddy and shaken up inside a high-speed military vehicle racing across difficult terrain, measuring its movements with a sensor suite that cost $50,000. This sensor has just been outclassed by the sensor in the iPhone. Progress! Apple's M7 motion sensor will be used in clever ways we can't predict yet.

How many Vine stars are scripting slo-mo videos right now?
